At Suopursu, old meets new in a modern, yet Finnish romantic country way. The buildings were built with love and many construction phases were challenging. In the winter of 2006, we dissembled a log house, originally built in 1934, from our property at Ranta-Ylätalo. The main room was formerly a lofted storehouse from the 1800s and the house’s bedchamber was made from an old smoke sauna. The logs were numbered and set to wait for their 3rd phase of life. The former main room was preserved as the main room in Suopursu also. One bedchamber became the kitchen and the other the current bedchamber. A sauna, summer kitchen, utility room, bathroom and loft were added to the log section. The cottage foundation was laid in the fall of 2006 and Suopursu was completed in October of 2007. Beds 4+2.
